Hi Everyone, isn't this a good idea/resource?
Use the forum as method of networking with each other, discussing problems with units, sharing experiences etc. For those of you who have attended workshops, you know how helpful it's been to be able to share ideas, use this space in the same way.
I'm going to start you off with a question for you to think about, Unit 333- Safeguarding- Can anyone explain what is meant by 'working in partnership' with relation to safeguarding.

At it's most basic level I would say that 'working in partnership' with relation to safeguarding means ensuring that the lines of communication are open between staff at schools, external agencies and the wider community. Sharing information with the relevant people could make a real difference. www.theguardian.com/society/2001/oct/02/childrensservicesnews.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/uk/2698295.stm The above links are good examples of communication fails, if the locals, social services, doctors etc had been communicating maybe such cases could have been prevented?

So many legislations, regulations and guidance on the subject of safeguarding. I found the working together to safeguard children: a guide to inter-agency working to safeguard and promote the welfare of children (2010) worth reading. The biggest thing is communication, if you have any suspicions, it's important to report concerns to your line manager.
